Seven area residents recently graduated from the first session of the WorkReadyNH program at White Mountains Community College. WorkReadyNH is the third and final phase of Governor John Lynch's New Hampshire Working Jobs Initiative and was created to assist the unemployed and underemployed improve their skills and add a nationally recognized credential to their résumé.
Graduates earn both the National Career Readiness Certificate and the White Mountains Community College professional level Workplace Readiness Soft Skills Certificate.

The WorkReadyNH program helps employers foster a skilled workforce and identify qualified applicants and employees, as well as assisting communities to begin to establish a pool of highly skilled candidates for future jobs.
The program offers assessment, instruction, and credentialing in key skill areas identified by employers as essential to workplace success including math, reading, and locating information. In addition, participants attend a diverse and dynamic sixty (60) hour Workplace Readiness Soft Skills course at WMCC which includes subjects such as workplace communication, team building, conflict resolution, problem-solving, meeting etiquette, customer service, and workplace safety. During this instructor led course, participants take an active role in the operations of a simulated business, putting their new skills into action.
The WorkReadyNH program is open free of charge to New Hampshire residents over the age of 18 who are unemployed or working less than 30 hours per week.
