Cisco Networking Academy Program Fact Sheet

  1. White Mountains Community College is a Cisco Systems Networking Academy.
  2. The Cisco Networking Academy Program, designed by Cisco Systems, is implemented in three WMCC semester-long courses: Networking I (CMT 213: Cisco semester 1); Networking II (CMT 219: Cisco semester 2); and Networking III (CMT234): Cisco semesters 3-4)
  3. The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum is Web-based. The Cisco Networking Academy Curriculum is delivered over the Academy's network to students' desktop computers in the College's computer networking lab.
  4. The Cisco Networking Academy Program qualifies students to pursue the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification. The Program also covers a substantial amount of material useful for students interested in pursuing the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Network+ certification. CCNA is the first step in Cisco Career Certifications. CompTIA Network+ is a vendor neutral certification.
  5. The program is taught by WMCC Cisco Certified Academy Instructors (CCAI) who themselves are CCNA's.
  6. Students will need Internet access at home to complete the program sucessfully.
  7. On average, for every hour of class, students should expect to spend an hour outside of class working on the curriculum.
  8. Prerequisite: Basic understanding of computer operating systems.
