Cisco Networking Academy Program Fact Sheet
- White Mountains Community College is a Cisco Systems Networking Academy.
- The Cisco Networking Academy Program, designed by Cisco Systems, is implemented in three WMCC semester-long courses: Networking I (CMT 213: Cisco semester 1); Networking II (CMT 219: Cisco semester 2); and Networking III (CMT234): Cisco semesters 3-4)
- The Cisco Networking Academy curriculum is Web-based. The Cisco Networking Academy Curriculum is delivered over the Academy's network to students' desktop computers in the College's computer networking lab.
- The Cisco Networking Academy Program qualifies students to pursue the Cisco Certified Networking Associate (CCNA) certification. The Program also covers a substantial amount of material useful for students interested in pursuing the Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) Network+ certification. CCNA is the first step in Cisco Career Certifications. CompTIA Network+ is a vendor neutral certification.
- The program is taught by WMCC Cisco Certified Academy Instructors (CCAI) who themselves are CCNA's.
- Students will need Internet access at home to complete the program sucessfully.
- On average, for every hour of class, students should expect to spend an hour outside of class working on the curriculum.
- Prerequisite: Basic understanding of computer operating systems.
