Water Quality Technology at White Mountains Community College

There is neither more nor less water on earth than there ever was. Less than 1% of the water on earth is usable and we are contaminating that 1% at an alarming rate. The field of Water Quality Technology attacks this problem from both ends. Water Treatment is concerned with improving raw water quality so that the water is safe for human consumption and Wastewater Treatment is concerned with controlling and minimizing the impact that used water has on both ground water and surface water sources. The field of Water Quality Technology is wide open for individuals with the skills, education, and certification necessary to operate and maintain these facilities. It is a fast growing field with opportunities not only statewide and regionally, but nationally and internationally. For those looking for a career that is challenging, interesting, and satisfying, and at a competitive wage, this may be the place for you.
