Scholarship Resources
There are many scholarships available to students to help make college more affordable. We have compiled a sample list of scholarship resources.
Scholarships are typically based on factors unique to each scholarship. These may include residency, degree program or major, academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and in some cases, financial need. Scholarships, unlike grants, are competitive, meaning that eligible applicants compete for a limited number of awards. Even finding the scholarships you can apply for is part of the competitive process.
Beware of scholarship scams. Organizations that "promise" or "guarantee" to find a student a certain amount of money, or require an upfront fee, should be scrutinized carefully before using their services.
Please use the resources below as a starting point in your scholarship search.
The Early Childhood Education Scholarship Program CCSNH partners with the NH Department of Health & Human Services to offer tuition assistance to child care providers who are entering or are currently in the field of Early Care and Education. Individuals who provide family child care, or work at least part time in a child care setting in New Hampshire, may be eligible to receive tuition assistance for Early Childhood Education courses offered through the CCSNH. Additional information may be accessed at www.ccsnh.edu/ece/index.html.
Human Services/Community Social Services Scholarship. The NH Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Developmental Services through a cooperative agreement with the Community College System of NH, offers grants to students as tuition reimbursement towards a Community Social Services Certificate at any of the colleges/institute within the Community College System. The grants are available to any employee of one of twelve area agencies and their vendors. Applications are available at any of the community colleges, and the student must have the support of an area agency representative.
