Thank you for your interest in White Mountains Community College. Set amid the spectacular mountain scenery in the North Country of New Hampshire, we are a comprehensive community college fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) Commission on Institutions of Higher Education.
WMCC offers 20 Associate Degree programs, 22 Certificate options, and over 1000 courses are available at our main campus in Berlin, New Hampshire, as well as academic centers located in Conway and Littleton.
Whether you are a recent high school graduate preparing for the workforce or planning to transfer to a four-year college or university, or an adult learner looking to upgrade skills, or retrain for a new career pathway, we have what you need to be successful. Our faculty is innovative when it comes to teaching, and our academic support center is second to none. We promise our faculty and staff will do everything in our power to help you achieve your goals.

Application Process
1.) Complete College Application ($20.00)- Students need to provide official high school transcripts or official GED documentation in order to be admitted to the college. Students must also provide official college transcripts in order to have prior credits evaluated for transfer.
- WMCC administers the assessment to assist academic advisors prior to new students registering for college courses.

- This workshop is important for new students to connect with college personnel and faculty advisors to assist with course registration and learn more about the services that are available to WMCC students.
- The Financial Aid office uses information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine if students are eligible to receive federal student aid from grants, loans, and work-study programs. WMCC recommends students complete the FAFSA online at www.fafsa.ed.gov

Policies and Procedures
Admission to White Mountains Community College is open to anyone whose academic record and personal qualifications suggest that he or she may pursue profitably one of its programs of study.
The procedure below is to be followed by each applicant for degree, diploma, or certificate programs. A student must take at least one course per year to maintain matriculated status, or must apply for readmission and abide by any new requirements in force at that date.
- Submit evidence of high school graduation (or its equivalent) with an official transcript of courses, grades and standardized tests. (Applicants possessing neither a high school diploma nor a GED may qualify for admission under the provisions of the U.S. Department of Education Ability to Benefit rule. Contact the Admissions Office for details in Berlin at 603-752-1113.)
- File an application for admission and submit the $20 application fee. When requested, complete a personal interview with a college representative.
- Participate in the placement exam or other admissions exams as required by specific curricula.
- Present recommendations from a high school source or employer(s) or both when appropriate. The recommendations should reflect character, personality, special abilities, and general qualifications for college study.
- Submit an official transcript of all previous postsecondary work with course descriptions.
- Submit the health survey prior to registering for classes. A physical examination may also be necessary to meet the requirements of selected programs, or to participate in athletics.
- Apprise the college of eligibility for Veterans Administration and other aid programs.
Note: It is the applicant's responsibility to request that official transcripts of previous study be mailed directly to the Admissions Office. High school transcripts must be received prior to consideration of the application.
Official application forms for White Mountains Community College are available at high school guidance offices, at the college, or from the college's website. A $20 non-refundable application fee is required. The application fee is waived for Jobs for New Hampshire Graduates when the application is accompanied by a letter from the NH Community College Commissioner. Running Start students are also eligible for an application fee waiver.

Transfer Options
Earning an Associate Degree and continuing your college education can be challenging process, but it is now getting easier at WMCC. With enhanced transferability within the Community College System of New Hampshire (CCSNH) and the University System of New Hampshire (USNH), students can now begin their education here and transfer credits. Transfer is also a popular option for WMCC students to many other in-state and out-of-state 4-year colleges and universities. For more detail, go here.

Tuition and Fees
The Community College System of New Hampshire has the lowest tuition rate in the state, making WMCC a truly affordable higher education option. Compare costs of a three-credit course (Approximately $684- including tuition and mandatory fees) and you will see that you can save a significant amount of money by enrolling at our community college.
The 2011-12 per credit tuition costs are as follows:New Hampshire Resident: $210.00 credit
New England Regional Students Plan: $315.00 credit
Out-of-state Residents: $478 per credit
The average estimated yearly cost (32 credits) of an Associate Degree at WMCC, including all fees/ books/ equipment, for a New Hampshire resident is: $8,500.00.

Out-of-state Residents: $478 per credit
A non-refundable Advanced Tuition Deposit of $100 will be required from all matriculated* students and must be paid within 30 days of receipt of letter of acceptance. The President or his/her designee reserves the right to waive the fee for students identified as evening matriculated students, or in circumstances where the collection of the deposit is not feasible (e.g., late admits, financial hardship, obstacle to disbursing financial aid). The deposit will be applied to the tuition for the semester in which the student is matriculated and is non-refundable. The tuition deposit is not transferable to another semester unless an exception is made by the President or his/her designee. One hundred dollars of any payment towards a student’s first matriculated semester may be designated as the nonrefundable tuition deposit. A change of major may also require an additional non-refundable deposit.
*A matriculated student is defined as one who has been formally accepted into a degree, certificate, professional certificate, or diploma program.
Full-time status for financial aid and/or insurance purposes requires a minimum of 12 credits each semester.

Comprehensive Student Service Fee: Students enrolled full or part-time, day or evening, will be assessed a Comprehensive Student Service Fee of $18 per credit in each semester of attendance. The fee is administered in part by the Student Senate within administrative guidelines. This fee covers college-sponsored activities.
Academic Instruction Fee:A fee will be charged for laboratory/clinic/practicum/co-op/internship or other similar experiences. This fee will be calculated by subtracting the number of lecture hours from the number of credit hours and multiplying the remainder by $60 for each course. This fee will be added to the normal tuition charge for that course. This fee will be charged to all students with no exceptions. No other academic instruction fees are permitted without the written authorization of the Commissioner of the Department of Community Colleges.

Student Personal Professional Liability Insurance: Fee ranges from $20 to a maximum of $65 per year. This is mandatory for all students in health and human service related programs which include clinical requirements. This may also be required for students in other programs who participate in an offcampus practicum or internship.

Completing a college application and providing an official high school transcript or GED documentation is required in order to be admitted to the Associate Degree and Certificate programs offered at WMCC. Students with prior college or university experience will also need to provide official academic transcripts to our college for credit transfer review.
Please note: Students may register for WMCC courses without being formally admitted to the college, but will not be eligible for financial aid or receive an Associate Degree or Certificate until the application process has been completed. Another incentive to gaining acceptance into WMCC is that you will automatically be assigned an academic advisor to help you navigate through you educational journey.
