The Woodsville and Littleton offer the courses you need to begin the training and education that will lead you to a career in nursing, medical assistant, medical transcription, or other health care positions. Our programs will help you complete the prerequisites and general education requirements for the Registered Nurse Associate Degree. Up to 40% of the credits for the RN associates degree can be completed at the Woodsville and Littleton Centers.
This fall many students who started coursework in Woodsville and Littleton will be in health care related programs at NHCC-Berlin, Laconia, and Claremont; as well as Norwich University, Vermont Technical College, Lyndon State College, and New Hampshire Technical Institute. Students from Woodsville and Littleton who meet the admission requirements, and apply early, are all being accepted into NHCC-Berlin, Claremont, and other college nursing and health care career programs.
Program coordinators Tom Allen and Melanie Collins can assist you with the steps you will need to take to be admitted into RN and other health care programs. They can also assist with need-based financial aid applications; as well provide information about federal tax credits that are available. Our one or two night per week evening classes, and reasonable tuition (Vermont residents pay the same rate!), make the Woodsville and Littleton Academic Centers of NHCC-Berlin an excellent place to begin your career in health care.
Deborah Garvin of Lisbon is in her senior year of the RN degree program at NHCC-Berlin. "I have attended classes in Littleton, Woodsville, and Berlin. The teachers have been not only brilliant but also resourceful. With their diverse educations and backgrounds, they provide knowledge backed by experience. Each location also has excellent support staff which adds to its rich and unique learning environment. I am thoroughly enjoying my educational experience and I know I made the right decision in attending NHCC-Berlin/Littleton/Woodsville for my nursing degree."
Wendy Robinson from Wells River, Vermont is completing her Clinical Laboratory Technician degree at NHCC-Claremont. "All of the instructors at the Woodsville Academic Center of NHCC have been excellent. The general education courses I completed at the Woodsville Center have prepared me well for the program specific coursework at Claremont. The program coordinator provided excellent support and help in planning courses to achieve my career goals. The evening courses close to home made it possible for me to get a good start on prerequisites and the general courses for the Clinical Laboratory program. If the Woodsville Academic Center of NHCC had not available to me, I would have had to delay starting my work on this degree for several years."
Mark Tuthill of Woodsville is attending the RN program at NHCC-Berlin. "Being able to take classes in Woodsville saved me a great deal of travel and allowed me to work during the day. The courses I needed were available and there was a good variety of choices for electives. I received excellent advising and the instructors were very good. The teachers would do whatever they could to help you succeed, well beyond what one would have expected. They were flexible and accommodating, while maintaining high standards and expectations. I feel confident and very well prepared as I enter the RN program with all of my general education courses completed."
Penny Brooks lives in Orford, NH. Penny has completed her coursework for an Occupational Therapy Assistant Associates degree at NHCC-Claremont. "Being able to take courses at the Woodsville Academic Center let me try out college courses and get my feet wet to see if going to school was right for me. Completing all of my general education courses in Woodsville made it possible for me to concentrate and focus on the occupational therapy coursework when I went to Claremont."
Brenda Paye, a resident of North Haverhill, completed her RN Associates Degree at NHCC-Berlin. "Completing my RN degree just would not have been possible to do without the great start I got at the Littleton and Woodsville Centers. The courses were close to my home and my work, and the evening classes fit my work schedule. All of the teachers were great. My teachers also provided me with good career advice, and the program coordinators helped me make the right choices for courses, in the right semesters."
