Joe Casciari

Dr. Joe Casciari teaches chemistry, microbiology, and statistics at the Woodsville Center of NHCC-Berlin. He also teaches at the NHCC-Berlin/Littleton campus and for Community College of Vermont in Newport. He has a Ph.D in Chemical Engineering and over 10 years experience in biomedical research. He is currently serving as a research consultant in addition to his college teaching.

When asked what he likes about being an instructor at the Woodsville Center of NHCC-Berlin he replied, "One thing that stands out with NHCC-Berlin/Woodsville students is that they are highly motivated. They are paying for their courses and have a good idea of what they want from their educational experience. The students really work together in our classes. We have a wide range of students from current high school students wanting to beef up their course work in preparation for college to grandparents who have been out of school for decades looking to make a career change. Students appreciate the small class sizes, and I have noticed a sense of camaraderie in the classes that I teach. Since I teach more than one subject, I often have students taking two or three courses with me. It's fun to get to know these students and follow their progress toward their goals.

Another thing I like about teaching at NHCC is that I have yet to have a class cancelled because of lack of enrollment. Our site coordinators go out of their way to find out what courses students need and when they need to take them. I am amazed that we get students from all over northern New Hampshire and Vermont. Students often learn about NHCC by word of mouth from friends who have taken courses at the Woodsville and Littleton campuses and appreciated the quality of instruction."
