CCSNH-Berlin Provides Opportunities to Earn an Online Bachelor's Degree from Franklin University
North Country residents can now get a Bachelor of Science degree in seven different programs without leaving home. The New Hampshire Community College - Berlin has recently joined the Community College Alliance with Franklin University of Columbus, Ohio. Any current or former student of CCSNH-Berlin who has earned an Associate Degree or equivalent coursework is eligible to enroll in one of Franklin University's online degree programs. Technology has revolutionized the way we communicate, and it is now possible to earn a Bachelor of Science degree by taking some additional courses at CCSNH-Berlin and then using your home computer to take the online courses offered by Franklin University.Franklin University has invested $4 million into the development of the Community College Alliance program and the delivery of meaningful online learning experiences. This commitment has put them in the forefront of online education. There are currently 133 community colleges in the Alliance and over 800 students are currently taking courses. Unlike some online programs that leave people in a vacuum, students pursuing a degree through the Alliance will be considered part of the student body at CCSNH-Berlin and Franklin University and will have full access to the resources of both colleges.
The courses are taught using a variety of Internet resources including bulletin boards, chat rooms, and e-mail. Courses are offered in six, twelve, and fifteen week formats, allowing students to choose a start date that best coincides with their schedule. A student can choose to take one course at a time or create a full academic course load. The Bachelor of Science programs available are:
- Business Administration
- Computer Science
- Digital Communication
- Health Care Management
- Management Information Systems
- Public Safety Management
- Technical Management
