Business Plan '06 Competition Winnners Announced

Plan Finalists: Elise, Brian, and Tyler
Elise Christie, a freshman from Lancaster, Brian Horan, a freshman from Berlin, and Tyler Liecht, a freshman from Stewartstown, were the finalists in NHCTC's Business Plan Competition. Tyler won the NHCTC annual business plan competition with his plan to own and operate the first Monster Truck to be based in northern New Hampshire. He plans to get financing to build and operate the Monster Truck and he expects that the investments and loans will be fully repaid within three years. Tyler plans to hold a regional nomination and voting through his website to give the truck a name. By letting the potential fans name the truck he will create local support and a local fan base. He hopes to be a real hero to northern NH Monster Truck fans.

"The Business Plan Development class and the Small Business Management class are forums for NHCTC students to express their dreams of business ownership. The competition is a goal for all of the students. Only the best three business plans make it to the competition. Having the potential opportunity to actually show off their ideas in front of real business people and bankers creates a deeper motivation and rigor as students do their research and write their plans. Many of the submissions are based on real expectations for new businesses in the region that will both create jobs and sustain the economy," said NHCTC Business Management Professor William Strauss.
