Community Colleges Award $11,000 in Scholarships

The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation today announced eleven recipients of the Community Colleges/American Automobile Association Northern New England scholarships for fall 2008. The scholarship is available to New Hampshire residents attending the Community College System, who are pursing careers in automotive technology.

From the White Mountains Community College Campus in Berlin: Nicholas Marois (Berlin), Harry Post (Lancaster), and Kyle Rines (Gorham).

From the Lakes Region Community College Campus in Laconia: Scott Jangel (Claremont), and Michael LaPanne (Barrington).

From the Manchester Community College Campus: Travis Drouin (Weare), Steven Whitney (Merrimack), and Seth Angeloro (Concord).

From the Great Bay Community College Campus in Stratham: Leo LeBlanc (Newton), Christopher Fowler (Brentwood) and Brian Newsky (Dover).

The students will each receive a $1,000 scholarship for their demonstrated mechanical ability and desire for a career in the automotive industry. The AAA scholarship award has been offered annually since the Foundation organized in the year 2000. Since that time, AAA has been committed to the System and its automotive programs, providing over $220,000 to the Foundation’s endowment over the past eight years.

The Community Colleges of New Hampshire Foundation was incorporated in February 2000 as a 501(c)(3) corporation. The Foundation is overseen by a Board of Directors. The Foundation’s mission is to support the Community College System of New Hampshire and make higher education more accessible.
