CCSNH-Berlin and the Berlin Public Library Fall 2003 Discussion Series

The CCSNH-Berlin Fortier Library and the Berlin Public Library will once again be hosting a series of book discussions this fall. The series is funded by the New Hampshire Humanities Council and regularly draws a lively and spirited group of North Country readers. Back by popular demand will be a series of discussions entitled "Not for Children Only." The four sessions will each focus on a work of fiction that is usually perceived as a "children's book" but will be approached as a literary work that has meaning for the child within us all.

The discussions are held in the Fortier Library at CCSNH-Berlin on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. Copies of the books are available at both libraries and refreshments will be served at each of the discussion sessions.

The first session will meet on September 24, 2003, will be led by Suzanne Brown, and will focus on the novel Little Women by Louisa May Alcott.

On Wednesday, October 8, 2003, Suzanne Brown will return for a discussion of Tatterhood by Ethel J. Phelps.

October 22, 2003, will see Jennifer Lee as discussion leader as the group talks about Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry by Mildred Taylor.

Jennifer Lee will return on November 5, 2003, to lead the discussion of Robert Cormier's novel I Am the Cheese.

For more information, contact the Berlin Public Library at 752-5210 or Katie Doherty at the CCSNH-Berlin at 752-1113, ext. 1270.
