Learn How to Earn Your Bachelor's Degree Online

Franklin University Regional Director Steve Singer will be at New Hampshire Community College - Berlin (NHCTC) on Monday, Nov. 4 to discuss the Community College Alliance (CCA) program with NHCTC students and interested individuals from the community. He will be in the cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The CCA is a bachelor's degree completion program that allows students in the U.S. and Canada to combine on-campus coursework at their local community college with online classes through Franklin to complete their degree. After completing their associate's degree at NHCTC, students take bridge courses (approximately 36 quarter units) at NHCTC and online classes (minimum 40 semester credit hours) through Franklin University to earn one of seven bachelor of science degrees, including Applied Management, Business Administration, Computer Science, Digital Communication, Health Care Management, Management Information Sciences and Public Safety Management.

NHCTC is one of 182 community colleges across the U.S. and Canada that have formed an educational alliance with Franklin University. The Community College Alliance Program was established to provide students the opportunity to earn their bachelor's degree online while remaining in their community.

The strength of this distinctive program is that students have the benefit of belonging to two schools at one time. They can access Franklin's resources in addition to the resources of the community college. Franklin's resources include academic advising, a help desk and a library system. Each student also is assigned a Student Services Associate who provides support and guidance by answering questions about transcripts, financial aid, or even how to purchase textbooks. Adults have responded enthusiastically to the convenient online format and the ability to fit classes into their daily schedule.

Franklin University serves more than 8,000 students annually through its on-campus programs in Columbus, Ohio, and the Community College Alliance. 182 community colleges in 29 states and Canada have teamed with the University to serve students. In addition to offering 14 undergraduate degree programs, the 100-year-old University now has four master's degree programs, including an MBA now offered in an online format. In 1999, Franklin was named as one of 15 educational organizations nationwide for a U.S. Department of Education pilot project, which ensures that federal financial aid is available to students pursuing college degrees through distance learning.
