Students in the Spatial Information Technology program at CCSNH-Berlin recently attended the GIS Day event held at UNH in Durham, NH. GIS Day is an international celebration of Geographic Information System technology and applications. The theme for this year's event hosted at UNH was mapping the ocean floor. Posters and exhibits from the NOAA Ocean Mapping and Exploration Map Collection were on display. The keynote address was given by Capt. Maureen Kenny, Acting Chief of NOAA's National Ocean Service, Coast Survey Development Lab.

The event also includes a college fair for high school students. Several hundred students from NH, CT, and MA had the opportunity to learn about the programs offered at CCSNH-Berlin.

Students participating from CCSNH-Berlin included Rachel Dandeneau, Amy Hicks, Jessica Frizzell, Dan DeGroot, June Garneau, Chris Wheeler, Eric Peabody, Nate Yager, Wayne Ainsworth, Abbie Kain, and Jessica Delude. Also attending were Professor of GIS Peg Heaney and Forestry professor Haven Neal.
