NHCTC- Berlin Vice President Transfers to Stratham Campus

Kathleen Tremblay, who worked at New Hampshire Community College-Berlin for the last seventeen years, has accepted the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs and Chief Campus Officer at the NHCTC-Stratham campus. Tremblay served in the Stratham position on an interim basis during the spring semester and leaves Berlin with mixed emotions. She is excited about her new challenges on the academic side of college administration, but leaves behind a wealth of great experiences as the Dean of Students and then the Vice President for Student Services in Berlin.

Tremblay cited a number of accomplishments of the college that she was proud to have been a part of. Foremost among those is the way the college has expanded its role in serving the community. Over the time she was at CCSNH-Berlin, the college has gone through two name changes each of which has signified an expansion of the educational opportunities provided.

The greatest milestone reached during her tenure here is reflected in the college's addition of the word "Community" to its name. In becoming a comprehensive community college CCSNH-Berlin has expanded its offerings in a number of areas and now offers students the opportunity to readily transfer their course work here to New Hampshire's four-year colleges. Tremblay went on to say that the college has done this without losing sight of its role in providing New Hampshire business and industry with the well educated and technically trained workforce they need.

In addition to expanding the college's offerings, Tremblay noted that making the college more accessible by providing satellite campuses in Woodsville and Littleton and providing opportunities to people of varied ages and background were accomplishments of note during her tenure at the college. The fact the CCSNH-Berlin has had a self-sustaining childcare program for the last fifteen years is just one of many examples of the college's achievements in providing needed services to its students.

As Tremblay leaves to face new challenges, she emphasized that there was a common thread that ran through all the positive accomplishments of the college over the last seventeen years, and that is the ongoing commitment of the faculty and staff to provide quality education by creating a great learning environment with a supportive atmosphere for the college's students. It is the memories of her coworkers and the friends that she leaves behind in the North Country that she will cherish most.
