The test results are in and the 2006 nursing graduates from the New Hampshire Community College in Berlin have scored well on the National Council for Licensing Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). The college's pass rate on the exam is 96.6%, one of the highest scores among the seven campuses in the NH Community Technical College System. The score also places Berlin ahead of other nursing programs in the state, including Rivier College, Colby-Sawyer College, and the University of New Hampshire.
"We are really proud of our graduates and how well they performed on this exam," says John Colbath, Director of Nursing at CCSNH-Berlin. "For two years, they worked very hard mastering the nursing material and they went into the exam very well prepared. The results show their efforts paid off," says Colbath. The nursing director also tipped his hat to his fellow nursing instructors. "We have a very seasoned and dedicated nursing education staff. They consistently go above and beyond in making sure our students are processing the material expected of them. A well-rounded team effort goes into educating our students and preparing them for licensing exam," says Colbath.
The nursing program at CCSNH-Berlin is the most popular major on the campus. Eight additional nursing seats were added this past September to accommodate the demand. The program currently serves 40 freshmen and 32 seniors. Applications are currently being accepted for the fall 2007 nursing program. Enrollment information is available in the college's Admissions Office, at 603-752-1113.
