CCSNH-Berlin Professor to be a Presenter at National Conference

Deborah Stewart, Associate Professor, Learning and Career Center Director at CCSNH-Berlin will be one of the presenters at a national education conference entitled, Teaching for a Change, which will be held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado June 16th through the 19th. The title of professor Stewart's presentation will be "Understanding Intelligences" and she will provide practical applications for developing an educational environment that takes into consideration Howard Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences. Teaching for a Change is a national movement of educators who have been inspired by the work of Parker J. Palmer, who will be the keynote speaker at the conference.

In addition to her responsibilities as Director of the Learning and Career Center, Stewart has created an associate degree program for people working as or interested in working in the area of special education. Students who complete the program can go on to a four year program to receive their certification as special education teachers or work in the public schools as special education aides.
