Those of us who live or vacation in the White Mountains are sure to encounter more interesting weather than we are likely to find in other parts of the United States. Meeting for two hours, once in February, March, April, and June, participants will learn basic meteorology. Special emphasis will be on the weather in and around the White Mountain National Forest. Each session will focus on several topics of weather. Participants will receive a CD which includes a summary of the topics discussed in the course as well as a rich resource of information about weather, general as well as specific, to this region.
The course represents a partnership between New Hampshire Community College, Berlin campus, and the Mount Washington Observatory. The instructor, Doyle Davis, is a physics, astronomy, and meteorology instructor at New Hampshire Community College, Berlin. The Observatory will provide resources and special information about particular weather common to the White Mountains.
Following is a partial list of the topics that will be covered on Fridays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Each session is $35 or all four for $80.
