White Mountains Community College (WMCC) would like to take this opportunity to thank all who contributed to making the fourth Annual Grand Auto Show a success! The event was held on Saturday, May 4, and the gray skies did not deter participants from showing off their grand auto for a chance to win the “best of” prizes along with a “people’s choice” prize.
Best of show trophies were awarded to: Vincent Verdo for his ‘70 Chevy CST Pickup, Peter Goodman for his ’55 Chevy 210, Andy Mullins for his ’36 Ford Sedan, Andy Garon for his ’74 Plymouth Cuda, and Russ Boisvert for his ’69 Chevy Chevelle. The people’s choice trophy went to Alaina Bernard for her ’87 Chevy 1500.
As in previous car shows, the college provided testing eleven cars on the Mustang Chassis Dynamometer. The event included music by Tim Dion, food provided by Norm Small, WMCC Bistro and Nonna’s Kitchen’s hot dog stand, and vendors were available to sell their wares. This year’s event raised over $1,000 in scholarship money to assist Auto Technology students with their education.
A big shout-out is due to members of the community who visited the Grand Auto Show, and to our volunteers who gave generously of their time and talent. We’d also like to acknowledge our sponsors for their generous support: The New Hampshire Automotive Dealers Association, Northway Bank, Berlin City Auto Group, Berlin Kiwanis Club, A&A Auto Repair, as well as the friends of the Grand Auto Show: Sanel/Napa Auto Parts, O’Reilly Auto Parts, Johnson’s Auto Care, Corrigan Screen Printing and Awards, Berlin Bowling Alley, Jax Jr. Cinemas, Mr. Pizza Restaurant, Follett Bookstore, Steve Fader, Sylvie Pratte, Roger and Tamara Roberge, Varsity Beverage, Harmony Elliot, Rymes Oil and Propane, Mt. Washington Auto Road, those who helped promote the show not wanting recognition, and of course, all the WMCC employee volunteers! Thank you so very much for your generosity!
The fifth Annual Grand Auto Show has been scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2019. Please mark your calendars. We look forward to seeing you all there!
