Introduces the student to the structure of veterinary medical terminology and basic recognition of animal anatomy, physiology, behavior, and identification of animal breeds. Trains student in safe animal restraint and handling. Introduces the student to basic veterinary care procedures performed in the exam room and in the treatment area. Provides experience in several common clinical procedures including assessment of vital signs, recording of patient history, nail trimming, basic medication administration, and vaccine preparation.
