As part of Granite United Way’s Smart Start Cereal Drive, White Mountains Community College recently collected 50 boxes of cereal to donate to the Gorham Learning Center. This event serves to empower our communities to support children and families by donating non-perishable breakfast items to those impacted by food insecurity. Many families across the United States typically utilize school-breakfast and lunch programs to ensure that their children have access to at least two meals a day, and the issue of food insecurity for these families has only been intensified by the COVID-19 pandemic given the uncertainty surrounding school’s reopening and job security.
