Early Childhood Growth and Development examines the typical growth and development of children from conception through middle childhood across the physical, cognitive, language, creative, and social-emotional domains. Students study major developmental theories and theorists to examine how environment and biology influence development. Attention is given to the importance of observation, developmental milestones, appropriate expectations, and New Hampshire Early Learning Standards. Observation hours are required in early childhood settings.
