This course provides the practical information for caring for infants and toddlers in a group setting based on a theoretical foundation. Students will focus on the principles of caregiving, infant toddler education and curriculum according to the National Association for the Education of Young Children with emphasis on the role and responsibilities of parents and caregivers in creating high-quality, supportive environments with sensitivity to attachment and the importance of communication skills in nurturing positive parent/teacher/child relationships. Students will observe and participate in an approved setting for at least 20 hours outside of class time.
